“Diversity, Equity, and Innovation.” - The APHIA Conference 2026 in Numazu, Japan
The Asia-Pacific Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics Association (APHIA) conference 2026 brought together experts from transplantation immunology, immunogenetics, cellular therapy, and infection biology, providing a platform for scientific exchange on recent advances. The central theme of this year’s meeting was “Diversity, Equity, and Innovation”.
From May 25th to 28th, 2026, the APHIA 2026 Joint Conference welcomed the histocompatibility and immunogenetics community to Plaza Verde in Numazu, Japan. As a sponsor of the event, DKMS Life Science Lab was pleased to be part of the conference and to support the exchange of scientific knowledge across the Asia Pacific region and beyond.
Held under the theme “Diversity, Equity, and Innovation”, the conference brought together experts from across the Asia Pacific region and the wider international community to exchange knowledge, discuss current developments and strengthen collaboration in the field. The scientific program reflected the broad scope of APHIA, covering key topics in transplantation medicine, immunogenetics, cell therapy and bioinformatics.
DKMS Life Science Lab was represented with an exhibition stand throughout the conference. This provided a valuable setting to connect with current and prospective partners, discuss their needs and introduce our expertise as a globally operating HLA genotyping laboratory. A particular focus was the introduction of our newly established Partner Area, a platform designed to simplify request submission and configuration processes for current and future partners.
The conference was also featured in a report published by Plaza Verde. The Japanese article summarizes the four days of the conference and includes a short interview with us at the exhibition area, highlighting DKMS as an example of the international exhibitors present at the event.
With its international audience and strong scientific focus, APHIA 2026 offered an excellent opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, establish new contacts and contribute to ongoing discussions in the field. DKMS Life Science Lab looks forward to continuing the dialogue and supporting further progress in histocompatibility, immunogenetics and transplantation medicine.
