HLA Genotyping by rSSO
For urgent genotyping requests, we are offering rSSO (Luminex) based HLA genotyping enabling next-day results. rSSO (reverse sequence specific oligonucleotides) technology is based on PCR amplification with biotinylated HLA allele group-specific primers.
The PCR products are hybridized to complementary DNA strands conjugated with fluorescent beads and quantified on a dedicated flow analyzer (Luminex system). While this method yields a lower resolution than HLA genotyping by sequencing, a result can be generated in less than 24h. This is especially important if replacement donors have to be validated very fast in emergency situations.
