Since 1997, we have provided HLA typing to registries, clinics, research groups, and more, to help blood cancer patients worldwide. Over these years, we have improved typing capabilities from only a few samples to more than 1,300,000 samples per year, while increasing quality at the same time. So we are more than pleased about the numerous and motivating feedback. Here are a few excerpts:
Czech National Marrow Donors Registry: "Working with the DKMS Life Science Lab significantly improved the quality of HLA typing in our donor pool. Since 2014, when the cooperation began, we have seen a very increased interest in our donors. The number of donations of our donors has thus increased by approximately 20-30%."
Cure2Children: "DKMS Life Science Lab has been a game-changer for my professional activity as a pediatric hematologist and bone marrow transplant physician. Being able to perform highly reliable and accurate compatibility testing worldwide with a simple buccal swab has hugely increased the number of children with deadly diseases who could access bone marrow transplantation. In fact, BMT is the only cure for the most common non-infectious life-threatening disease of children globally, i.e. severe hemoglobinopathies like thalassemia and sickle cell disease.
Thanks to DKMS Life Science Lab, hundreds of families started having realistic hope of curing their children. The immediate effect of this was that they became more compliant with supportive care; Eventually, many of these children were cured directly in developing countries and given back a normal health-related quality of life and life expectancy.
It has been a great pleasure and a privilege to collaborate with such a skilled and kind group of professionals at DKMS Life Science Lab."
Karelian BMD Registry: "It is a great honor and pleasure for us to cooperate with your laboratory. We have been working together for 7 years now and thanks to you the quality of our donors has increased significantly. Some of them have made donations HSC for patients from Russia, Germany, Argentina, France, and Estonia. We are very pleased that our cooperation continues. I sincerely wish you many happy days, amazing moments, and new wonderful discoveries."
